The day-long strike has been jointly called by national- level road transport organisations that represent both public and private sector workers. The organisations are affiliated to central trade unions like AITUC, Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), BMS, INTUC, HMS, AICCTU, LPF and other state-level outfits.
