Applicable Vessel restrictions for Monsoon Season at Gangavaram Port (From 21st May 2015 to 15th September 2015)April 21, 2015 10:43 am
I). Please note that due to adverse weather conditions prevailing during the South-West monsoon season (21 May 2015 to 15 September 2015), the applicable vessel restrictions for monsoon season at Gangavaram Port Coal Berth (Berth 5) shall be as follows:
i) For Vessels of LOA upto 292m, maximum permissible DRAFT shall be 17.5 AFT.
ii) Max permissible BEAM upto 48 m
iii). Max permissible DISPLACEMENT upto 235,000 MT
II) In addition to above, all vessels must be trimmed by stern. The recommended trim in loaded conditions is 50 cms. by stern. However the trim shall not be less than 30 cms bystern. The trim in ballast condition shall not exceed 1 m for every 100 m LOA andminimum 90% propeller shall be immersed.
III. All vessels must have minimum 4 head ropes, 2 breast ropes, 2 back springs forward & 4 stern ropes, 2 breast ropes, 2 back springs aft. These ropes shall be of synthetic materialwhich floats in water. However if vessel does not have adequate number of synthetic ropes, wire breast lines are acceptable provided they have synthetic rope tail of not lessthan 40 ms length.
IV) The distance from waterline upto the top of hatch cover shall not exceed 17.5 m,assuming that the height of tide is 1.5 m. Vessel berthing will be done in conjunctionwith high tide and will be subject to suitable weather conditions at the time of berthing.
V) Berthing of Cape size vessels will be done in daylight hours only.
VI)Prior to Cape size vessel fixing, all nominations shall be forwarded to Gangavaram PortLimited (email@example.com) for specific acceptance.
