The standalone net profit of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) rose by 14 per cent to Rs 312 crore for the six months ended March 31, 2015 as against the year-ago period’s Rs 272.60 crore, it told the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in a filing. Meanwhile, the standalone net profit of the country’s largest container port rose by 10 per cent to Rs 555.70 crore in the entire 2014-15 as compared to the previous year’s Rs 506.30 crore. During the October-March period of 2014-15, the Port’s standalone operating income increased moderately to Rs 797.30 crore, from Rs 789.20 crore in the same period of the 2013-14 fiscal. For the entire year 2014-15, the Port’s standalone operating income grew by 12 per cent to Rs 1,507.50 crore, from Rs 1,345.30 crore in the previous year.
