The call of M.V.Thanh Thuy, carrying steel cargo of Tata Steel Ltd, at Kattupalli Port on May 28, 2015, has heralded the beginning of an association between the Indian steel manufacturing major and L&T Kattupalli Port. The facility had started break-bulk operations in April 2014.

A small ceremony was held on board the vessel to mark the occasion, which saw officials from the Port greet Capt. Nguyen Van Tien, Master of the vessel.

The L&T Ports management thanked Tata Steel and Unitrans Shipping P. Ltd for the support extended to Kattupalli Port.

In February 2015, the Port had achieved the landmark of handling 1 lakh tonnes of steel cargo.

Kattupalli Port is fast emerging as the preferred facility to handle clean break-bulk and project cargo, stressed a release.
