Maiden vessel of OOCL’s Far East CPX service calls Adani Hazira Container Terminal

OOCL commenced its CPX service from Adani Hazira Container Terminal with the maiden call of M. V. OOCL Chicago on April 13, 2015, providing direct connectivity to Far East destinations from Hazira.

The CPX service has a rotation of Mundra, Hazira, Port Klang, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekhou, which will facilitate the ex-im trade based in South Gujarat, Central India, Northern Maharashtra and beyond with excellent service linkages to Far East destinations.

Besides the direct calls to major Far East destinations, the CPX service also accepts bookings for Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and other ports in China.

At a brief function to mark the occasion, Mr D. K. Sensharma, Chief Operating Officer of Adani Hazira Container Terminal, felicitated the Master of the vessel and the senior members of the OOCL India team, and thanked them for choosing this most modern gateway terminal.

Also felicitated was Mr Nilesh Sinha – DM, Commercials & Logistics, Hindalco, for the company loading the maximum cargo on this inaugural vessel call of the CPX service at Hazira.

As per a communiqué, Adani Hazira port offers:

* 2 berths with 650 metres quay length

* Capacity to handle 750,000 TEUs per annum

* 6 post-Panamax quay cranes

* 16 electric RTGs

* 129 reefer plug points

* RFID-enabled automated gates

* On-dock ex-im yard with stuffing/de-stuffing and Customs examination facility
