Celebrating Civil Services Day on April 20 and 21, 2015, Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) organised a two-day free health check-up camp with free distribution of general medicines for the public in Wadala. Also held was a training programme to impart soft skills to the security personnel and other service providers who interact with international tourists/passengers embarking and disembarking at the Port’s international cruise terminal at Ballard Pier, in conjunction with MTDC and the main cruise operators to Mumbai Port.
MbPT has a full-fledged fire service wing specialised in tackling oil and chemical fires. It is a member of Mutual Aid Response Group in Chembur and Mahul Industrial Area, and renders assistance to the MCGM Fire Brigade in tackling incidents in the city as a member of Mumbai City Disaster Management Group.
On the occasion, Mumbai Port Trust also inducted into its fleet a multi-purpose fire tender specially designed to tackle electrical, gas, oil and chemical-induced, water resistant fires, informed the Chairman of Mumbai Port Trust, Mr Ravi M. Parmar.
