With regard to the beam, displacement & DWT restriction port has not declared
anything in writing to the Port Users / Trade. But understand from the
present proceedings, any vessels more than 32.20 M beam & 65000 MT DWT have to
get Deputy Conservator / Harbour Master's approval.
Storage - Inside the Security Wall of the Port
4 warehouses with a total area of 19,550 sq.m. for covered storage. Open space
for stacking bulk cargo such as coal & sulphur and containers are available to
the extent of 5,53,000 sq.m.
Storage - Outside the Security Wall of the Port
Tamil Nadu Warehousing Corporation has constructed 14 cargo godowns with a
storage space of 4,23,000 sq.ft. abd Central Warehousing Corporation has
contructed 2 cargo godowns with a storage space of 36,000 sq.m.
The Port has also permitted a number of other agencies to put up godowns and
warehouses.
Open lands are also used for stacking of imported timber as well as for storage
of export granite blocks.
VIZAG
Inner Harbour - For vessels of LOA more than 195 M and beam more
than 32.2 M, one extra officer (Off Duty Pilot) is posted for arrival. At night
2 Duty Pilots are posted for arrival of vessels of LOA more than 186 M upto 190
M and beam more 31.5 M to 32 M.
Outer Harbour - For arrivals LOA: 280.00 M
BEAM: 48.00 M DRAFT: 17.00 M
One Extra Officer is posted for arrivals, if the LOA is more than 270 M and Beam
is more that 42 M for vessels, more than 75000 DWT upto vessels of LOA 270 M and
or 42 M Beam. Two duty pilots are posted for night arrivals.
KOLKATA
* Vessel over 163 M length can avail of tide time sailing only. Operational
offices at KPD, NSD and Tuckta Ghat maintaining VHF. Watch on channel 10 for KPD
/ NSD and Channel 13 for Tuckta Ghat and Channel 12 for Dy. Harbour Master (Port
& River). Messages are exchanged on channel as per agreed channel after contact.
* The draft for departure vessels may be restricted to 7.0 M and shipping
movements through KPD Dock affected on these dates. Draft as per forecast day
permissible.
HALDIA
* Beam restriction at lock gate - maximum vessel beam 32.2 M is accepted.
* Vessel should follow the days draft as per draft forecast issued by Port
authority.
* Upto 8 M draft vessel are allowed to berth at night in Port Haldia.
* Port does not allow berthing the gearless vessel at general berth. These
vessels are only accepted for
mechanical berth.
* Port priority rules are followed strictly for berthing & un-berthing of the
vessel.
